God and His law
Exodus 20
I am the Lord your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.
have no other gods before me.
You shall not make an idol or any likeness of what is in heaven above, or what is the earth beneath, nor of what is in the water under the earth.
you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I the Lord, am your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,
but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love me and keep my commandments.
shall not take in vain the name of the Lord thy God, the Lord will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy: six days
labor and do all your work,
but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy.
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea and what is in them, but rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which gives you the Lord your God
not kill.
not commit adultery.
not steal.
not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet your neighbor's house.
You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.
DEUT
I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of bondage.
have no other gods before me.
You shall not make an idol or any likeness of what is in heaven above, or what is the earth beneath, nor of what is in the water under the earth.
you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation for those who hate me, but uses
mercy unto thousands to them that love me and keep my commandments.
not say in vain the name of the Lord your God because the Lord does not consider him guiltless who misuses his name.
Observe the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord your God has commanded you.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God does not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor your ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates, that your manservant and your maidservant may rest like you.
Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the Lord your God brought you out thence with mighty hand and outstretched arm: therefore the Lord your God commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, because your life is long and you be happy in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
not kill.
not commit adultery.
not steal.
not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, nor his field, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor.
